Storm Summit Ball Review! This Bowling Ball Is Strong And Versatile! – BowlersMart

Today we are reviewing the all new Storm Summit! This bowling ball is pretty unique in the sense that it is strong AND versatile which is something we don’t normally see in balls!

Storm Summit Bowling Ball

Officially, this is Storm’s strongest symmetric ball to date. Starting on the inside, the Centripetal HD weight block is surrounded by the ALL-NEW A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This new combination drives the RG down and the differential up ensuring this ball spins up fast and a lot! Paired with the TX-23 Hybrid Cover, the Summit provides enhanced oil absorption for even better grip on those slick conditions. Once you get one in your hands it’ll be tough to get it out.

This new technology stacked inside and out in the state-of-the-art Summit. Starting with the cover, TX-23 Hybrid is a modernized variation of the beloved TX-16™ that’s soared the Phaze™ II to record heights. Equipped with all the midlane read you can handle, this improved formula gives enhanced oil absorption for even better grip on those slick conditions.

We’ve taken the Centripetal HD weight block and paired it with our new A.I. (Amplified Inertia) outer core. This drives the RG down and differential up, everything you need to ensure this ball spins up fast and a lot. Officially, this is Storm’s strongest symmetric ball to date. Once you get one in your hands it’ll be tough to get it out.

Storm DNA Bowling Ball

You may have already seen how a bowling ball is made. We start from the innermost part, the weight block, and work our way out. In this case, it’s the inventive Supercoil weight block. The intent was to develop a super low RG shape with a greater undrilled intermediate differential. Traditionally, weight blocks with more of the mass placed around the equator drive the RG down and read the midlane better.

The cutaway on the Y-axis helps to maintain dynamic integrity after drilling. When it’s time, the coverstock is poured. In just a few minutes as the liquid transitions to a solid, an extreme amount of heat (about 200 °F) needs to be released for this to happen. We refer to this as “exotherm”. This stage in the process is crucial to the chemistry of the coverstock and by controlling the peak temperature, heat rate, and cooldown speed we can manipulate the chemical porosity deep within that helps with oil absorption and displacement. This creates caverns of porosity and cliffs so deep which give this stateof-the-artshell the kind of cutting-edge traction that’ll leave you in awe. Enter: EXO Reactive coverstock.

Storm Phaze 2 Bowling Ball

“Phaze 2 is amazing, one of the strongest and most versatile balls I have ever thrown.” – Mike LeViner – BowlersMart Charlotte

The new Phaze II features both innovative core and coverstock technology, proving again that Storm is the leader in bowling innovation. Advancements in the core shape are easily seen with the naked eye. This fast-revving shape, the aptly-named, supercharged Velocity Core helps you crush pin after pin as it produces more ball motion than any other shape in our Master Line. It smooths out the backend reaction without over-reacting and avoids creating an undesirable last-second movement.

TX-16 (Traction-X 2016) is what emerges from countless hours in R&D to develop the finest coverstocks on the planet. This solid reactive blend leaves an incredible footprint on the lane. The marriage between the core and the cover produces the strongest motion of any symmetrical Storm ball to date.
