France Autumn Internationals Squad 2022
The last team to defeat France? Yep, it was the Wallabies.
And so the hosts have made some intriguing calls for this one – some a show of faith, some out of necessity, some big calls. Antoine Dupont captains the outfit, with Chalres Ollivon left to focus purely on playing from the flank. But while injuries to Paul Willemse, François Cros, Gabin Villière and Melvyn Jaminet, mean sensible swaps, the big stand-out selection is of Cyril Baille at loosehead.
He has played almost no rugby this season, after summer surgery, but he’s back in, in a Test arena.
Sipili Falatea is also an intriguing choice on the bench, while expect Matthieu Jalibert to get some time in the driving seat. And then there’s Sekou Macalou – the quicksilver Stade Francais start who can put in a shift in the back-row… Or on the wing!
France team to play Australia – Saturday 5 November
