India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has remarked about India’s new T20I skipper Hardik Pandya and his ability to manage the team.
Pandya, who has been captaining the Indian squad in the unavailability of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul since his Indian Premier League victory, has been a fan favorite, to say the least.

Pandya has successfully led his team throughout his brief time as captain by bringing his unique flair to the game. Speaking about his style of leadership, Ashwin noted that the all-rounder keeps the squad at ease because he is very laid back.
“He is a very smart cricketer. The thing I like about him is he is very chill. Because he’s chill and relaxed, I think it will keep the team atmosphere pretty relaxed and players will perform well as a unit,” Ashwin said in an interview with New Indian Express.

Although Hardik’s team defeated Sri Lanka directly in the first match, they lost the second match on Wednesday as Indian quick bowlers failed to make an impact against a well-known Sri Lankan batting strategy.

“I don’t want to come across as too humble or too doubtful. But, in life, you want to be the best at anything you do, right? Kapil Dev is not just a great Indian cricketer, but also one of the world’s finest” Ravichandran Ashwin said.
“And if you pick up a bat or a ball, I believe that any youngster, any kid that picks up a ball or a bat today must aspire to be the best in the world. It makes no difference who has done it before you; you must aspire to be the best in the world “ Ravichandran Ashwin spoke up.
Ashwin will compete against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which begins in February.
