TRIPTOROYALTY ran a fair race in her last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She was reported to be changing strides that day. Her best career effort in terms of lengths behind the winner was her debut effort over this C&D. She is having her first run for the Michael Roberts yard and in this type of field, she can shed her maiden tag.
GUEST GETORIXX has decent consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second three times and third once from five starts over this C&D. She does have the early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and is one of the leading contenders.
I LIKE IT HOT has been costly to follow in her four efforts to date. She finished 1.4 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
AMERICAN STYLE should have won her last start over 1900m on this course as she hung in the closing stages. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and if keeping on a straight line, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
LADY IS A CHAMP finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.
WHISPERING GREEN ran on from last when finishing second in her last start over 1200m on this course. She finished 1.4 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair.
ARTIC TUNE finished 0.5 lengths behind SEA MASTER last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won his only attempt over this distance. Calvin Habib retains the ride and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.
SEA MASTER set the pace over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and held on where it matters most. He has won twice, finished second four times and third once from nine starts on this course. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
MONARCHY should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was carried outwards at the 300m mark. He has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding will strip a much fitter horse today and he must be included in all bets.
SASHAY AWAY was beaten a short head in her last start over 1200m on the turf. She raced from a handy position, moved up well but was caught in the shadow of the post by Caralluma. The daughter of Var has won over this distance in the past. She meets a similar type of field and can notch up her third career victory.
MEET AT THE GEORGE ran a decent race when fourth over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She won a good race in her penultimate run over this distance. The 6yo mare will strip a much fitter horse today and will pose a massive threat.
CHANTY LANE was her own worst enemy over a mile last time as she overraced in the early stages. She has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. She will strip a much fitter horse and if switching off early, she should run a big race.
A WHOLE NEW WORLD showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Ideal World has dropped to a competitive rating and with S’manga Khumalo retaining the ride, he can return to winning ways.
LIVING WATERS was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was carried inwards in the latter stages. The drop to 1600m is a slight concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
FEVER finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there should not be much separating them where it matters most.
FAEEZAHS PRINCESS ran a creditable race in her first run for the Kumaran Naidoo stable. She showed good speed before awkwardly placed in the latter stages. The daughter of Var would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She takes a slight drop in class and may be the one to side with.
LOOKING HOT showed good guts when winning her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi which will help her chances. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KILEIGH’S FATE finished 1.9 lengths behind MAGICALLEE last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Rachel Venniker takes the ride once again and she should run a big race.
MOUNT GREYLOCK showed some signs of a form return in his comeback run over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He was reported to be coughing that day. The son of Coup De Grace has dropped to a competitive rating and should strip much fitter. From pole position, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
WE ALL CHOMIES’ last two starts against stronger company have been decent. He has won once and finished third twice from eight starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding takes a drop in class and should be right there at the finish.
GREY OCEAN’S last two starts have been good. He was given a peach of a ride when winning his penultimate start over this C&D. He is in a good space and from his midfield draw of five, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
PHINDA MZALA has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He raced from just off the pace over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Trust The Fire. He jumps from a good draw of three and with not much speed in this race, he may be able to dictate his own terms and may be hard to peg back.
EDWARD LONGSHANKS was running on well when second in his last start over 1000m on this course. That was his first start for the Kumaran Naidoo stable and if confirming his recent improvement, he is capable of going one better.
GIMME A RAINBOW is better than his last start over 1000m as the jockey reported something to be amiss. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts over this C&D. On previous form, he should be right there.
