OnCore Ambassador Xeve Perez shocked the junior golf world in 2021 when he became the youngest player to ever compete in the International Junior Masters (IJM) at age 11. Not just compete, but win multiple matches against boys five, six and even seven years older than him.
Well, Xeve is back for the 2022 IJM, held June 27 – July 1 at the East Aurora Country Club in East Auroa, N.Y. And this time, he’s armed with a few invaluable tips from golf legend, hall of famer and fellow OnCore Ambassador Gary Player.
Xeve won his first tournament at a golf camp at age three. He was ranked No. 1 in Georgia’s 13- to 15-year-old bracket at age nine. At age 11, he became the youngest golfer to compete in the International Junior Masters, advancing to the semi-finals after beating two highly-ranked juniors, ages 17 and 18. In all, he’s won 250 times.
Affectionately dubbed the “The X Man” by his junior golf peers, tales of Xeve’s his junior golf accomplishments are the stuff of legend. Here at OnCore, we’re fortunate enough to have known Xeve and his parents since he was five, and we’re excited to help him as he continues to cultivate his passion and love for the game of golf.
Earlier this year, we announced a long-term partnership with Xeve to play OnCore golf balls exclusively and wear the OnCore logo on his apparel. Xeve plays the VERO X1, our four-piece Tour-level ball that skyrocketed in popularity in 2021 after besting Titleist Pro V1® and Pro V1x® in independent Golf EQ tests.
The OnCore deal was Perez’s first official partnership, and he is one of the youngest golfers in history to sign with a major golf brand before hitting his teenage years. We were on hand in 2021 when Xeve made a name for himself at the IJM. We can’t wait to watch him in action again starting Monday
