SILK BIRD shaped well to take away a minor cheque when a 25-1 roughie on debut at Thirsk. The daughter of Free Eagle will be more streetwise and can give previous winner Cite D’Or plenty to think about.
Race 4 No6 BOND CHAIRMAN (Nap)

The horse I’m most looking forward to is BOND CHAIRMAN, whose four 2022 outings encompass three earning visits to Ascot and a run at the York Ebor Festival that is better than it looks on paper. This speedy individual should enjoy this step into a conditions race (from handicaps) and is too talented not to win soon.
Race 5 No5 IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU can cash in on his long journey from Wiltshire to contest this interesting novice stakes. He’s among half-a-dozen that have troubled the judge, and when finishing third at Goodwood put in a pleasing finish without being given a hard time. That sympathetic handling can stand him in good stead with top northern pilot Tudhope in the saddle.

Race 2 No5 FIELD OF HONOUR (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Harry Burns
From a plum draw in this mile handicap run round a left-handed bend it will be surprising if FIELD OF HONOUR isn’t ridden with the same enterprise that saw him open his account from the front at Brighton. That switch to handicaps brought with it a much improved effort, and he’s in a good place to consolidate racing from his revised mark.
Race 3 No7 ROSE LIGHT (Each Way)

Fillies could hold the whip hand in this maiden, with ROSE LIGHT taken to beat Khamsin Lady. The selection hasn’t been seen since posting a midfield finish on debut at Goodwood in the spring, but you can take it as read her trainer will have the daughter of Nathaniel fit for this return to the fray.
Race 7 No1 DUBAI LEADER
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt
Golden Horn colt DUBAI LEADER can defy a penalty for his Windsor success in May. He’s another whose readiness can be taken on trust, and the one to beat, though support for debutant Kensington might be worth heeding.

Race 1 No9 CORNICELLO
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
Recent winners Larissa and Sophosc command respect but one that can cause them problems getting weight is CORNICELLO. The four-year-old earned in all but one of his five outings last season, and was a costly faller one his final start at Huntingdon after being a springer in the market. The former German-based gelding is fancied to put in a big earning run.
Race 4 No4 VISION DES FLOS

VISION DES FLOS made a pleasing effort returned to hurdles at Newton Abbot when thwarting Litterale C. Having fallen on his previous run in a chase, he’s in a good place to dominate this two and a half miler back over fences.
Race 6 No4 SERGEANT PAINTER (Nap)

Pauling is enjoying a bountiful summer, and a major contributor to his haul is SERGEANT PAINTER. The seven-year-old chalked-up a hat-trick in June and July before having his sequence threaded by Obey The Rules at Market Rasen. Under the same conditional who rode him that day he can return to winning ways.

Telescope filly TREEFINCH troubled the judge in consecutive bumper outings in the spring in spite of being easy to back. The four-year-old has strengthened up for her summer break, and is ready to open her account.

Race 5 No10 UNREQUITED LOVE (Each Way)

With the Ryan juveniles in very good order, it could be worth taking a chance with newcomer UNREQUITED LIVE to outpoint Chasseral. The selection has a speedy American pedigree and is the subject of good vibes from her trainer’s gallops.
Race 7 No5 WADACRE GRACE (Nap)

Brazen Beau filly WADACRE GRACE reentered the stage with a battling victory on handicap debut over course and distance at the beginning of the month. As the least experienced member of the party this evening she has scope for further progression, while her knowledge of this course should also assist her cause.
