Because it was unseemly for women to use a full-sized golf club, the Ladies’ Putting Club of St. Andrews decided to miniaturize the sport.-

3.) The first miniature golf course in the United States was built in 1916 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The course name is Thistle Dhu, a Scottish expression for this will do. A reference to the fact that a mini-golf course will do over a regular golf course.
4.) There are portable mini golf fairways that can be used to create pop-up courses. Perfect for festivals, fairs, or fundraisers.
