The Australian Cricket Team was blown hot & cold on 1st day of 2nd Test match. The Aussies got folded for 263 runs in 78.4 overs. Usman Khawaja played a terrific knock of 81 runs where he looked in complete control. Once again, the star left-handed batter David Warner was dismissed cheaply when he looked in two minds about whether to attack or defend.
India went unscathed in the short span of 9 overs where they managed to score 21 runs. The pitch had started to deteriorate where the odd ball was seen keeping low, which is a dangerous sign. The hosts would be aiming to grind the opposition as batting last on this track would be quite tough.

Usman Khawaja on David Warner
Usman Khawaja was having an interaction with the media and was asked about David Warne’s recent slump in Test Cricket.
“I have to kind of disagree with what you’re saying. He hit two fours of Ashwin in the last game before he got out lbw so he was showing some aggression. It’s never easy out there, especially starting out, even if you’re opening starting out there is never easy so I was lucky today. I got a couple (of boundaries) to get me going.” said Usman Khawaja.

“Sometimes you don’t get that and it can be very hard. So yeah, three innings is not enough for me. There’s still a long way to go in this Test series. I’m looking forward to what may happen. Davey has been such a terrific player for such a long time. Every time his back is against the wall he produces something so we’ll see.” he added.
Concerns for Australia
Skipper Pat Cummins has taken a massive risk as playing with a lone fast bowler can backfire. We witnessed how Mohammed Shami took 4 scalps and was quite threatening from the start. Cummins should bowl from one end as he is someone who can bowl long spells and inflict damage.
All eyes would be on Nathan Lyon as this is his third Test tour to India. It won’t be wrong to say that his spell won’t determine whether Aussies can square the series or not. The hosts in the 1st Test match made sure that Lyon doesn’t get settled and rotated the strike.
