2022 Australian Track and Field Championships Day 6


Congratulations to all athletes that competed on day 6 of the Australian Track and Field Championships. On another wet and windy day, athletes pushed through these conditions and still had exceptional results.

Hannah Edwards (Mulgrave Athletics) in the Open Discus with a throw of 44.07m to qualify for the finals. On the same day, Hannah also competed in the U18 Hammer Throw with a throw of 56.38 in the second round to move into second place and her first medal of the event.

Isabella Linton (Townsville North Star) in the U17 Shot Put. With a monster final round throw of 13.84m to secure the bronze medal.

Taylah Atkins (Townsville North Star) in the U18 Long Jump, in extremely wet conditions jumping 4.95m in the 5th round to place 14th.

Jade Bidgood (Peak Performance Track Club) in the first heat of the Open 800m running a time of 1:57.64 to place 10th.

Holly Blunt (Keppel Coast Athletics) in the U18 100m Hurdles heat 2, running 15.91 to place 4th.

Kerrin Brennan (Douglas Athletics) in the Open Discus heats throwing 32.28m in the 3rd round to place 20th.

Zoe Chester (Townsville North Star) backing up from her silver medal performance in the U20 Triple Jump. In windy conditions for the U17 Long jump and a 5.49m jump in the first round. Zoe moved into second position and finished the event with another silver medal for the championships.

Ginger Cox (Pace Running and Multisport) in section 1 of the U17 1500m running 4:36.47 to place 4th.

Jake Doran (Townsville North Star) in the first heat of the Open 100m running 10.33 to get the automatic qualifier to the semi-finals.

Maggie Gibson (Keppel Coast Athletics) in the first heat of the U17 400m heat running 61.01 to place 6th.

Lindsey Hendy T20 (Townsville North Star) in the Open Ambulant 400m running 54.03 to place 3rd  and take home a bronze medal.

Adam Jorgensen (Ross River Athletics) in the second heat of the U18 110m Hurdles running 15.06 to place 5th.

Kayne Kellett T/F37 (Townsville North Star) in the U15 Para 100m running 16.95 placing third on the podium.  

Natalie Millerd T47/F46 (Tablelands Athletics) in the U17 Para 400m running 66.99 to place first. On the same day, Natalie also competed in the U17 Para Long Jump with a leap of 4.02 to give her a percentage of 66.88% to rank 3rd overall.

Heath Otto T/F37 (Townsville North Star) in the U15 Para 100m running 18.47 to place 6th. Along with the 100m heath also ran in the U15 Para 400m with a time of 1:26.99 to place 4th.

Xavier Simms (Cairns Athletics) in the first heat of the U17 400m running 53.81 to place 6th.

Jett Grundy (Keppel Coast Athletics) in the 2nd heat of the U18 400m, powering through the field in the final 100m to finish second with a time of 49.41.
