OWNERS’ PRAISE was held up for a run behind a wall of horses last time. That form line is arguably best ignored and from pole definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. EIGHTEEN PALMS has finished close-up in all three outings at ‘The Valley’ and it will be intriguing to see how he goes at Sha Tin. TURQUOISE ALPHA was beaten 2.5 lengths by DARCI JOY last time and is now 3kgs better off at the weights.

EXCELLENT FIGHTER managed to beat Galvanic and it will be interesting to see if the form is done any favours in Race 5. He has been racing well under Silvestre De Sousa and can give another good account of himself. WINGS OF WAR is a Group 2 winner and should improve on his Hong Kong debut effort.

SEASONS WIT produced an eye-catching first run in Hong Kong when narrowly beaten by Atomic Force. NICCONI COUNTY was beaten half a length by RUN RUN COOL last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire. CHEVAL VALIANT showed his customary pace and kept going to win his last start. He is nicely weighted again with apprentice Chung aboard and can run into the money.

CHING was an impressive winner in his last start and the manner which he drew off in the closing stages suggests he can make it quick back-to-back victories. THE BEST PEACH finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and could be one to fill the exacta spot.

The former Hong Kong champion apprentice Vincent Ho has interestingly opted to ride UNIVERSAL HORIZON over JUMBO LEGEND and are both serious contenders in the lucky last. SOLID IMPACT placed under Hugh Bowman last time and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest.
