In the continued search for innovative products, TruCut has made a running change from 220 grit to 240 grit.
Our current resurfacing options available in 6 inch are TruCut 80, 120, and 220. They will now be 80, 120, and 240 grit. The current TruCut Sanding Pad grits remain unchanged for now at 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000, and P5000D.
A better material for bowling balls
The 240 grit brings a different material to the TruCut resurface family: ceramic. Ceramic is a more durable cutting material for a bowling ball especially when paired with TruCut Conditioner.
After extensive comparison testing between 220 grit which is Zirconia and 240 grit which is Ceramic, we found that the 240 grit Ceramic provided a more even cut on a bowling ball. This means a longer lasting and more consistent cut when used with TruCut Conditioner. In addition, the 240 grit is also a more natural step up from 120 grit, as it is double the grit number of 120 grit. This makes it easier to use when resurfacing and moving up in grits; since 240 grit is closer to 500 grit. With this change, TruCut will now offer products in the following grits:
