Stowe come out on top in The Cricket Paper National U17 plate


Eastbourne 167 all out (Will Harrison 4-38). Stowe 171 for 5 (Wilf Pickard 67 not out)

Stowe win the final by five wickets

The plate draw followed on from the main draw with some withdrawls, but otherwise a good take up. Regional finals were won by Queen Ethelburga’s, King’s Worcester, Stowe, Shenfield, Bristol Grammar, Eton & Eastbourne College.

Eastbourne beat Eton and Bristol to secure their place in the final with Stowe beating Oakham, Shenfield and King’s Worcester.

Eastbourne had the better Net Run Rate so secured the home draw.

In the final Eastbourne batted first – scoring 168 all out with Will Harrison taking 4-38.

In reply Stowe knocked the runs off for the loss of five wickets with Wilf Pickard scoring 67 not out to steer the team home.
