RunBlogRun presents Socialing The Distance with Larry Eder Featuring Coach Danny Mackey of the Brooks Beasts

The original Post was on July 16, 2020

The repost was on October 22, 2022

This is the complete interview of Coach Danny Mackey, and we have reposted it to provide some background on our feature on Josh Kerr and Danny Mackey. The coach/athlete relationship, and especially a successful one, is quite complicated. What makes such a relationship successful? That is what we are trying to ascertain.

Danny Mackey is a coach who understands that coaching is both an art and a science. Mackey has been the coach of Brooks Beasts since its founding in 2013. Danny is an absolutely fun interview.

We have spoken with Danny Mackey on several occasions and learn something new each time. Like most successful coaches, Mackey knows that he will continue to learn from his experiences and that coaching is about evolution.

Danny Mackey is a positivist. He is close with his athletes and is enduring COVID-19 like the rest of us.

One day at a time,  he knows that his sponsor, Brooks, gives him the room to succeed with his athletes.

It was a well-spent 40 minutes.

Thanks to Danny Mackey and Mike Deering / The Shoe Addicts for the production.
