Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: THE AFRICA HOUSE (7)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: S Tarry
THE AFRICA HOUSE ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Protea Stakes last time. He won a good race on debut over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course. He lost a length leaving the start that day and finished his race off strongly. The son of What A Winter tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be too good for this field.
Race 5: THE CHARLESTON (8)
Jockey: G van Niekerk – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson
THE CHARLESTON won a good race in the Non-Black Type BSA Sales Cup (Fillies) at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of The United States has class about her and can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 6: OUTLAW KING (4)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: D Kannemeyer
OUTLAW KING has been super-impressive in both his victories to date, the latest of which was the Non- Black Type BSA Sales Cup (C&G). The son of Rafeef quickened up well that day and drew clear of the opposition. He has plenty of class about him and if suited to this course, he should keep his unbeaten record intact.
Race 8: NOBLE CITY (11)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: P Muscutt
NOBLE CITY was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m on this course. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The son of Noble Tune should have no issues with the step up to the mile. He is drawn widest of all in barrier 11, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 9: KASHKAVAL (5)
Jockey: S Khumalo – Trainer: Y Govender
KASHKAVAL was his own worst enemy over 1400m on this course last time as he over raced in the early stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He steps up to the mile and if S’manga Khumalo is able to switch him off early from barrier five, he can shed his maiden tag.
